He's happy to see her happy, even if the people make him uncomfortable and the place is not his thing. He could settle in with her being happy, he could find comfort in having her close even if the others irritate him. Charles doesn't dislike them, honestly, he just finds the pressure of their minds overwhelming. Still Charles is pleased to be with her, pleased to make her happy, please to make her feel the warmth of comfort as she does for him in his bad evenings-- as she had many times before when he could not cope with them.
